Jacek Sikora
Jacek Sikora (b. April 3, 1967 in Łódź) – actor, painter and traveler, a graduate of Paris Ecole Internationale de Mimodrame, Marcel Marceau and Ecole de Mime Corporel Dramatique. He also studied anatomy at the Medical Academy in Wroclaw. He creats a dreamy landscapes, nostalgic portraits, monochrome nudes and silent, minimal abstract pictures. His works are situated on the border between figuration and abstraction, static and dynamics, subtlety and expression. The essence of his work, in which the subject surrenders composition, is constantly vibrating matter and a game of light reflections. His paintings are in collections in the UK, USA, Australia, Russia, France, UAE and Japan. His artistic path has evolved from acting and pantomime toward the visual arts and painting easel. Enchanted by traditional Japanese art – sumi-e ink painting on rice paper – he returns to figurative art based on the monochrome color, and this more and more, by consequent reduction of forms, evolves towards abstraction. Visible inspiration in the work Sikora is the art of Claude Monet, Henri Matisse, Mark Rothko, but also by Jerzy Nowosielski, Wojciech Fangor, Leoan Tarasewicz or Roman Opałka. He lives and works in Swidnica.
