Jacek Sikora – an actor by profession, painter by choice, traveler by twist of fate. He began his adventure with art by working on stage. Studies at Ecole Internationale de Mimodrame de Paris, and Ecole de Mime Corporel Dramatique opened him to the expression and code of gestures of the human body. The trace of stage work can be found in his figurative works, in which man is always at the center. His artistic path has evolved from acting and pantomime towards visual arts and easel painting. Enchanted by traditional Far Eastern ink painting on paper, he begins his artistic search with figurative art based on monochrome color, in which we find the most characteristic features of his work – color and detail minimalism. Over time, his works evolve towards color field painting, reducing detail from abstract paintings and introducing color to figurative ones, which emphasizes the importance of the symbols hidden in the paintings. Jacek Sikora’s paintings were awarded the Certificate of Excellence during the 36 International Artavita Online Contest, and were also awarded the Curators Choice title on the Saatchi Art portal in September 2020. The artist’s works have been exhibited in Poland and abroad, incl. Vlask Gallery in Ghent. Today they can be found in collections in Great Britain, USA, Russia, Australia, France, Cyprus, the Arab Emirates and Japan. He lives and works in Wędrzyn.
